Hi, I'm Jessica Patel, Registered Dietitian!
I'm a culinary dietitian helping those with health conditions who require restrictive diets know that they can still prepare and eat amazing, delicious food. Having been diagnosed with Hashimoto's and learning to manage my health, I'm passionate about helping others find joy in the kitchen and eating even when there are health constraints that may restrict them otherwise.
I understand eating a healthy, balanced diet is an important component of optimal health, energy, and a better quality of life. I use a holistic-minded approach to help clients achieve well-being through self-care, gentle nutrition, and positive habits.
My journey to good health has been a challenging one.
I'd always known something with my health was "off" for a long time. Because I had a history of symptoms, combined with excess stress during college and a less-than-ideal diet, I was not surprised in 2010 when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune condition where the body produces antibodies that attack the thyroid gland. Over the years I've struggled with symptoms like muscle aches, foggy head, constant fatigue, headaches, and swollen glands. Hashimoto's is a complex condition but with the help of good doctors, my own research, and trial and error I've been able to get my health on track.
I've improved my well-being by balancing my body with nourishing foods, proper supplementation, and yoga practice. I believe the holistic approach I took by changing my lifestyle helped me manifest what I want to teach others about taking control of their own health.
Now, I've dedicated my practice to helping women with Hashimoto's learn to live a life well fed, despite their disease.
